CONSTRUCTION & REMEDIATION FMC Corporation Project Background ERRG was responsible for excavation of approximately 3,000 cubic yards of soil to pre-designated depths at Unit 91, Unit 98, Building 11, and portions of the CTTA. The excavation depth ranged from 1 foot to 16 feet below ground surface (bgs). Portions of the soil excavation activities were completed below the water table and required pumping and management of contaminated groundwater. ERRG worked closely with FMC's project consultant throughout the project including coordination on the transportation and disposal of excavated soil to permitted disposal facilities. Prior to excavation efforts, ERRG cleared surface area obstructions, obtained underground utility clearance including temporary shutdown/relocation of utility lines (i.e. power line and water line). During the project, ERRG also assisted with soil confirmation and water sample collection. Upon completion of excavation, the site was restored including import, placement and compaction of backfill, site grading, and resurfacing with asphalt. |
